Burt's Bees Intense Hydration [Review + Giveaway]

Burt's Bee just launched this new Intense Hydration collection. The inspiration behind this range is from a native Southern Europe plant, Clary Sage, that has an exceptional ability to trap and retain moisture.

This beautiful lilac plant is a xerophyte plant which needs very little water or attention for growth which makes it extremely adaptable in harsh and dry conditions. Thus, this acts as the Intensive Hydration range's natural ode to help cope with dry skin and at the same time provides soft, supple, revitalised skin. Besides that, it also aims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by dehydration.

Personally, I've only had one time hands-on to the eye cream and night cream. So I can't talk much about them other than they being very thick and cream just like the rest of the product in the collection. However, I have the Treatment Mask in full size and deluxe samples of the Day Cream and Cleanser. I will review these three items.

Let's start with the Treatment Mask because it's the star product of this range. It's 99% with active ingredients of Clary Sage, Bitter Orange Peel extract, Mafura Butter, Tucuma Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Probiotic Technology.

It's a thick, white paste. Creamy but still need a bit of effort to spread it all over the face. However, the results is truly hydrating, not the cooling way but the supple from within kind of way. Though, because the texture itself is so intense, not every skin type will love how heavy it feels on the skin, especially if you are thinking about using this as an overnight mask. But first, you will need to know the two ways to use it.

How to use the Treatment Mask?

#1 Wipe off mask
On a clean skin, apply a thick layer to your face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 5-10 minutes then remove it with a tissue. This will leave the skin with a thin layer of product, massage it into your skin. Repeat 1-2 times a week or as needed.

#2 Overnight mask
Apply a thin layer 30 minutes before sleep. Wash off the next day.

My suggestion:
Oily skin type - to only use it as a wipe off mask but instead of applying a thick layer, try starting with a thin layer to see if you can handle the thickness of the cream before going wild with it.
Dry skin type - Feel free to go crazy with it but in moderation.

Intense Hydration Cleanser
Omgosh, you have to try this. It as cream based cleanser but still gives a clean face feeling after cleansing but without the feeling of completely stripped off from moisture. It has an obvious citrus scent to the cleanser which I can't complain because I love anything citrus. It doesn't foam at all but you do still need to add water to make it work.

Intense Hydration Day Lotion
This is something that oily skin people would stay away while dry skin people adore. It's considered pretty thick for a day time moisturiser. Yes, sure it gives a great intense, moisturised feeling to the skin but being out in the sun with this "lotion" is not quite fun. Though, I do like to use this when I'm indoors with air-cons because it does keeps my skin from drying out. It's a love-hate relationship, you just have to know how to work with it according to your lifestyle.
