Boss Ma Vie Pour Femme - My Current Go-To Fragrance

This sounds crazy but I have been using only this fragrance for the past 2-3 weeks. It's even sitting everywhere outside of my normal perfume collection cupboard! I have a strong feeling it's due to the subtle message behind this bottle of independence. If you've seen the commercial all over TV, especially DIVA channel, you will know what I'm talking about. The way BOSS MA VIE Pour Femme ambassador Gwyneth Paltrow walks, the way she talks, her posture and even her chic tuxedo (tailored by Jason Wu, Artistic Director BOSS Womens wear) totally exudes confidence. Which is exactly the type of mindset that I needed.

The scent is inspired by the astonishing contrast in the Bolivian desert of the immaculate white salt, the intense blue sky and the stylised green cactus island with its tender pink blossoms. This sensation produced an uncluttered, refined perfume around the cactus blossom, aiming to reinvent and modernise floral green notes with a delicate pink twist. Exceptional ingredients were carefully balanced, blending the green freshness of the cactus blossom with refined pink floral notes to enhance the composition's vivid luminosity. The addition of cedar wood softly grounded the perfume without losing its captivating clarity. The result celebrates strength, beauty and life.

I've also recently completed this book titled "Smart Girl Thinks Twice" by Jan Silvious where it talks about we ladies can choose to be wise in all aspects of life. It's not a matter of IQ, it's a matter of the heart and willingness to take that extra look at choices that will affect us. Plus, in a generation where #YOLO and #FOMO seem to be taking over our minds, it's even more important we young ladies learn to be wise in our actions.
A Smart Girl doesn't have to second-guess herself, nor does she live with regrets for what might have been. She approaches issues with an intentional heart and proceeds with a poise that comes only from making wise choices. That difference is what sets Smart Girls apart from the rest.
Here are some statements from the book that spoke to me. I believe it will speak to some of you too.

  1. Have an intelligent attitude towards life, always Stop to examine the situation, Look to concentrate on identifying the underlying issues, Listen to keep your ears open for helpful insights, and finally Look Again to recognise the safety in thinking twice.
  2. Red flags are not there for decorations, so keep an eye on warnings. Caution is the eldest child of wisdom.
  3. Don't let life slip away, think twice about time. What we do today should be important because we are exchanging a day of our life for it. Thus, invest your time where it counts.
  4. Check and balance, control your money or it'll control you! Spend some, save some, tithe some, invest some and give some away. Btw, lending money is a risky business, so be smart about it.
  5. Thinking twice about words, speak what is necessary. It's time to put a stop to crimes of the mouth because 90% of our lives is about how we respond to it.
  6. Smart Girls learns how to be flexible in finding a plan that works for everyone and adjust to the changing realities. Let go of the mentality of "...but we have always done it this way...".
  7. When it comes to men, listen more closely to his actions than to his words. A wise woman puts a grain of sugar into everything she says to a man, and takes a grain of salt with everything he says to her.
  8. Give yourself a break and rest. We become ill because we are never still. Btw, while doing this, don't awfulise things in your mind, think happy and positive thoughts.
  9. Regret for wasted time is more wasted time. Stop moaning about it and adjust your perspective.

Freakishly awesome book for women, especially girls who are going through a tough time in life. It helped to bring back the strength and confidence in me. Shine On Y'all!
