I know some of you don't fancy the whole "I cook my own food" idea when you are paying for the food at a restaurant because you prefer that they do everything for you. I guess I'm different because I LOVEEEEEE all these steamboats with grill pans, it feels like real life masak-masak :D

Even though I hate the idea of leaving the place smelling like a cooked meat, I like the thought of wasting all your time there mingling with your family and friends while preparing your meals together. How can you miss these kind of fellowship opportunities?

The selections in Pak John Steamboat are pretty impressive. The varieties are wide and most importantly, they pay attention to good quality products, especially in the meat section. The story behind this restaurant is that they started off as a meat distributor. After doing that for many years, they realise that many restaurants only wants to stock up on cheaper priced meats instead of premium meats from New Zealand or Australia. Thus, this gave them the light bulb to start a restaurant that provides their customer with good quality meats at an affordable price. Well, to be more precise, you pay one price for an all you can eat buffet!

They're halal with buffet over 100 food items, drinks and desserts. As for the steamboat soup, you can choose either tom yum, miso or chicken soup broth. Some of my personal favourite signature dishes are the Australian Beef, New Zealand Lamb, and Smoked Duck because these are the 3 things that you can find in other grill steamboat restaurant. They are premium raw meat being sliced into thin slices for you to cook. Oh and damn, I love their selections of sauces, they have almost every kind of sauces prepared for your dipping.

In conjunction with Chinese New Year, they have additional dishes on the menu such as Lotus Leaf Rice, Sea Cucumber, Golden Purse, and Fried New Year Cake (nian gao). All these additional items are only available from the 24 January - 14 February 2014.
