Life Lessons I’ve Learnt From Watching 'Blended'

Yes, it's a typical Sandler movie. Still, I find it fun to watch but only for one time. It's not the best family movie I've ever watched but I believe we can learn a few things from Blended. Few life lessons that we all can use in the real world.

Never try on your customers clothes, even when you know they won’t be back so soon.

In the movie: Closet Queens had a motto for not wearing their customer clothes while they‘re organising their client’s closets. They thought they could get away with it knowing that their client is at tennis practice but ended up got caught with a picture taken by the client’s son and blasted all over the internet.
In real life: When it comes to work, once you’ve given your clients your word, never break them even when you think they will never find out. Once you’re caught not delivering your promises, you’re dead because internet is a bitch. Your image will be tarnish forever.

Change your physical appearances if you want to catch the boy’s attention.

before and after transformation

In the movie: Hilary (Bella Thorne) a tomboy-looking basketball star liked a boy during the trip in Africa. He wasn’t even attracted to her in the beginning until she had a 180 degree makeover. Hair extensions, makeup, fake lashes, girly-girl clothes, accessories and heels. With all these, immediately he asked her if she would like to grab sushi with him.
In real life: You know how people say “you are perfect just the way you are” or “don’t change yourself just make others like you”? Well, it’s all a whole load of bull crap! If I’m so perfect and unique, why does my mom keep asking me to stop sloughing and stop opening my leg so wide while standing? Because she knows that good posture portrays confidence and keeping your feet together while standing is more feminine and lady-like. Whether you like it or not, people are still going to judge you by your physical appearance and the way you carry yourself. It’s just human nature.

Blended living can also be seen in the wild, until they eat you up.

Family shock faces

In the movie: During the safari trip, they saw a piglet “sleeping” in between a male and a female lion. The tour guide explain to them that blended living also happens in the wild, two different animal species can too live in harmony. So naturally, humans can do it too. And then, the lions ate the piglet.
In real life: There are many kinds of people out there. You can be friends and mingle with them but beware of your surroundings because there are some “friends” are just looking for any chance to bring you down. So know you friends and don’t be afraid to stay away from those few blood suckers.

Don’t forget to catch Blended, a romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler and Drew Berrymore. Now showing at GSC, TGV, MBO, and Cathay Cineplexes.
