Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Nude Collection Review + Vlog!
I've reviewed some of the products from Physicians Formula before (Check it out here) and it was quite a hit or miss. I also did mentioned that I am much more stoke on trying their shimmer strips collection. Thank God my prayer was heard as they recently launched these new bad boys in Malaysia! It's their Shimmer Strips Nude Makeup Collection!
Can you read the excitement in my writing?! It's summer in the beauty and fashion world, it's all about either going super bright colours or nudes. Then again, with nudes, you'll never really go out of trend. The no makeup, makeup look is always a yes to any event, as long as you are glowing with personality.
Speaking of glowing, it's also all about shimmering highlights this season. They are shinning brighter than ever. In fact, the beauty world love highlighters so much that they went all out with the "Full Face Highlighter Challenge" and to be honest, some of the looks are actually decently wearable.
The queen of highlighters, of course, Jaclyn Hill and her Champagne palette that I absolutely want but just couldn't allow myself to fork out that much of money for that particular face palette. Thus, we find dupes for it, or at least an alternative that works just as well but doesn't burn a hole in your wallet.
Here comes Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips to the rescue! To be honest, even their original shimmer strips made headlines as one of the best drugstore highlighters but it can be a little OTT for some people. Well, here's something for you I guess because the new Shimmer Strips Nude Collection is a little more subtle that the original shimmer strips! And boy, I've been using it so often lately!
It's the product in square packaging. I've been using this as my eyeshadow and highlighter for almost two weeks now and I don't think I'm going to let it go anytime soon. I love it! They are super easy to blend with pretty good pigments, you get 12 perfectly coordinated nude hues that I use as an individual eyeshadow as well as either bronzer or highlighter, not so much blush even though they claim that it can be used as a blush too. I feel there's not enough pink in there to make we love it as a blush as I'm quite heavy handed with my blush, I just prefer it to really show on my cheeks as I'm fair as a paper. The best part is that the pigments are not glitter chunky, they are made with micro-pearlescent formula. I think it's a fantastic and money worthy product!
Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Makeup Shadow and Liner Nude Collection (RM63.50)
TBH, I'm really not quite sure how I feel about the eyeshadow palette as I haven't really got into testing it out properly. I did some swatches during the launch but to me, it wasn't as impressive as their All-in-1 Palette. I believe they should be formulated the same, thus can also use it dry for a softer look or wet to create a more dramatic look. Available in 2 palette and 9 shades in each.
It's stated in the press release that it's going to be in stores around mid-august 2016 but I have this weird feeling that I've somehow seen it on the shelf of Watsons store in Aeon Bukit Tinggi Klang. Anyhow, they will be available this month. You can even purchase them online on Watsons Malaysia website and get them shipped directly to your house or even collect them at your nearest Watsons store. I tried the collection method, it was so convenient! They'll inform you when it's shipped, they'll inform you when it's ready for collection, and they will tell you that you will have to collect it by a certain date. Plus, I get to key in my Watsons Card number and use my collected points for discounts! Yeay!
Here's a promo code for you! Key in JQL5PF and get additional RM5 off Physicians Formula products (any amount)! T&C apply. While stock last. Apply to 1 eCoupon per transaction. Expiring on 30th September 2016.
*I'm not earning any money out of this code, it's specially for you to get discounts*
