Sephora Favourites Give Me Some Nude Lip Set Review \\ First Impressions + Swatches
Yeay to my first lip swatch video! Okay, not quite true, I just remembered doing one for Mary Kay sometime back but I'm super glad that I'm doing one again and this time, is the new Sephora Favourites Give Me Some Nude Lip Set.
I rarely buy makeup these days but if I do, it has to be at a really good price. I almost did not get this lip set as I was trying to convince myself that I really don't need anymore lipsticks but after stumbling upon Sephora's FB feed again with the swatches, SOLD!
Check out my video below to have a better look at the box and the individual lippies. Otherwise, written review further down this blog.
I'm not quite sure what's going on as on the Sephora's website as it stated in the box consist of 5 deluxe and only one full size but at the back of my box, it stated that I have 3 deluxe and 3 full size product. Opening them up, yes, I do have 3 full size products. Feel free to refer to my video to see the products.
Here's a run down:
Kat Von D Mini Studded Kiss Lipstick in Magick (1.2g, Deluxe) - My least favourite colour among the 6. It's a little too pink/purple for my liking. I know there are different types of nude but I'm just more of the brown/rose undertone kind of gal when I think about nude lippies. Plus, it has a little bit of shimmer in it that I again, personally don't prefer in my nudes. A creamy texture and quite pigmented though.
Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme in No Angel (1.7g, Deluxe) - I quite like this colour and it's super creamy. No shimmers but it has a satin finish on the lips. Not a long lasting lippie for sure but feels very comfortable on the lips.
tarte Lippie Lingerie Matte Tint in Whisper (1.75g, Deluxe) - Although I don't like the tip bulging out of the container as I often get my cap scrapping off my precious lipstick, I have to say that the tip make application super easy. It's a my-lips-but-better type of shade and I like it very much. It's really smooth and creamy at first but it does get a little drying and gritty after a while. Thus, I highly recommend prepping your lips (Eg: lipscrub) before using this.
Moonshot Lip Feat. Lipstick in Barely Nude (3.5g, Full Size) - It's a nude for sure but definitely not made for Autumn/Winter season. It's very Spring/Summer in my opinion. I still like it a lot because these kind of colours compliment my skin and look very well as I love the simple Korea makeup look. It's a colour for times when you want to look a little younger and cute. Love the packaging and it's super creamy. Almost too creamy that it felt as if it's going to melt on your lips. Not a long lasting lippie and can get a little patchy, which means you'll need to pay attention when applying this lipstick.
Nudestix Intense Matte Lip + Cheek in Belle (2.8g, Full Size) - The shade quite similar to the tarte lippie but this has a true matte finish. Application is smooth and easy thanks to it being in a pencil form, but it dries down to matte really quickly and it doesn't budge anymore after that unless you mess with oily food. Not super drying but still highly recommend prepping your lips first before using this lippie. I like this a lot but I really wished I didn't have to sharpen it to use it further.
Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in Pink Tea (5ml, Full Size) - This is the colour that got me buying the set. It's similar to Colourpop's liquid lipsticks but with a thinner consistency. It dries down similarly as how a liquid lipstick do and last for a super long time on the lips. Once I got used to the colour on me, I fell in love with this shade. It's not too pink yet it's not too dark. Can be a little drying because it's similar to a liquid lipstick but it's not too bad.
So is it worth buying? I have no regrets. RM169 is super worth it for a lip set with brands that I don't really have in my beauty collection. It doesn't seem like it's selling out anytime soon, so if you wait a little longer, maybe during Christmas time, they might just put it on sale. If you can get it at a discounted price, why not right.
