Sulwhasoo's Perfecting Cushion [Review + Giveaway]

Let's face it, thanks to the current Korean trend or better known as Hallyu, we somewhat became obsessed with natural, dewy looking skin. It's almost the new ideology of what's having perfect skin all about. Well, I don't blame us for falling prey into this popular culture, I blame mass media for this. I'm not really complaining though, almost, kinda love it.

Okay, so by now, we should all know this. Too well, in fact. Yes, I'm a little late on this whole cushion foundation hype but I have a good reason for it but let's first talk about Sulwhasoo's latest Perfecting Cushion.

Sulwhasoo's Perfecting Cushion is a multifunctional cushion-type foundation in a compact that's perfect for women on-the-go. This perfect10 all-in-one cushion compact has multiple benefits including a sunscreen (SPF50+ PA+++), brightening and anti-ageing properties with long lasting coverage. The best part is that it's super moisturising and stays that way for a long time.

Sulwhasoon's signature technology - the Watercolour Technology - is used to enable smooth and even coverage. Pigments are dispersed evenly in water allowing it to spread evenly without lumping. This helps to achieve the perfect look and firmness free of micro facial lines in apparently, just 10 pats.

For lasting glow and even coverage, Sulwhasoo uses the Flexible Film-Fixing Polymer Technology, offering long lasting glow by forming flexible and protective barriers on the skin as well as keeping skin tone maintained throughout the day.

Apricot Kernel Oil is used in this cushion compact to prevent collagen decomposition. This formulation allows the skin to appear more resilient, conceals fine lines and smoothens the skin's surface.

This product also contains Sulwhasoo's JAUM Balancing Complex and high hydrator content such as sodium hyaluronic acid to preserve skin's health and also ensures the suppleness of the skin.

The other thing that makes this cushion great is the Aircell Puff. The puff is less dense making it easy to absorb and release content upon contact with the skin. The puff now has a similar colour to the foundation for a cleaner look and easy maintenance.

The Perfecting Cushion comes in four tones - Light Pink, Medium Pink, Medium Beige and Deep Beige - retailing at RM190 (inclusive of GST) with a refill pack separately.

I'm just going to be completely honest and say that I'm all for Cushion Foundations if you have at least almost good skin. It's great at covering minor flaws such as evening up the skin tone, cover up some dark spots, temporarily hide away some wrinkly fine lines, smoothens open pores, and etc. It wouldn't be the best option for people with acne prone skin (almost severe) due to hygiene factor and you won't be able to see much effect out of this pot of goodness.

I know this for a fact because I had a season in my life where adult acne was a thing and my forehead was just not doing really well. I had another cushion foundation of another brand, it was okay but didn't really give me the full coverage that I needed as well as it's really quite unhygienic if I were to use the same puff on my forehead (problematic areas) and my cheeks (non-problematic areas). Though, it you have a few inflammations once in a while due to hormones, then it's fine.

However, my skin have definitely improved over the years and I find that I really love how convenient it is to bring them out when I'm rushing. I love that I don't have to use my hands to apply them on, evens up my skin tone, hydrates and give my skin an amazing glow. I also love that additional cooling effect when applying it on my skin. Sometimes, I apply some powder over it but sometimes I don't, depending on my mood. Lastly, I always use the patting motion, never swipe or drag the puff for application. The finishing is more natural this way.
